SeaMonkey is a free and open-source Internet suite. It is the continuation of the former Mozilla Application Suite, based on the same source code and consists of many components.
There are several constituents of SeaMonkey such as a web browser called SeaMonkey Navigator; which is a descendant of the Netscape family, an email and news client program known as SeaMonkey Mail & Newsgroups that shares code with Mozilla Thunderbird, an HTML editor (SeaMonkey Composer) and an IRC client (ChatZilla). Later in this article the way as how to convert SeaMonkey to PST file type is explained.
Mail & Newsgroups - Email Client Part of SeaMonkey Suite Mail & Newsgroups is the email client part of SeaMonkey suite which provides some advanced features. Some of its characteristics are as follows: provides support for multiple accounts, tabbed mail, customizable labels, tags, add-ons, mail views, Junk mail controls, news feeds, message filters, HTML message support, a dictionary, an address book as well as integration with the rest of suite.
The email client part of SeaMonkey uses MBOX format for its emails. Here in MBOX, all the emails of a mailbox are stored in a single file as plain text. Also the MBOX files are created for individual IMAP mail, email and News folders. These files contain all messages. Both user data and applications are stored in a different location from program installation directory.
This file is stored at the following location by default:
C:\Documents and settings\Administrator\ApplicationData\
There are instances when a user having SeaMonkey email client has the want to migrate into Outlook and in most situations users also desire to continue using the data in MBOX files. But the fact is that it is not possible to access the MBOX data in Outlook as it does not recognize MBOX format. This cause necessitates the conversion in PST format that can be fulfilled by an external application because there is no manual procedure to convert SeaMonkey to PST form.
